Welcome to Chimney Mechanix of Indiana

Meet Kaitlin – Owner & Certified Chimney Specialists

Hi! I’m Kaitlin Kuhn, the founder and proud owner of Chimney Mechanix of Indiana. I live in Brookston with my husband, Jason, and our pack of wonderful pets. I’ve spent most of my life in the Greater Lafayette area, and I love being part of this community.
My journey into chimney work started a few years ago, training under a Master Sweep who taught me the ins and outs of the trade. What began as a curiosity turned into a full-blown passion—not just for chimneys, but for doing work that matters. I started Chimney Mechanix of Indiana with the goal of raising the bar: offering not only top-tier service, but also creating a company culture that’s supportive, energetic, and always learning.
I’m certified through the Chimney Safety Institute of America, strictly adhere to the National Chimney Sweep Guild’s code of ethics, and am committed to ongoing education in this field. My mission is to keep Indiana homes safe, warm, and efficient—while building a company that employees are excited to be part of.
I’m hands-on, detail-driven, and believe deeply in customer care. When you work with Chimney Mechanix, I want you to feel like you’re in good hands—because you are.

Meet Jason – Weekend Warrior & Support Specialist

Hey there, I’m Jason Corns—Kaitlin’s husband and the guy who jumps in to help out wherever and whenever I’m needed. I work full-time at Purdue Federal Credit Union, but outside of my day job, I support Chimney Mechanix in a behind-the-scenes role.

While I don’t have a background in skilled trades or chimney work, I proudly show up as the unskilled labor—hauling equipment, holding ladders, keeping things organized, and making sure the team has what they need to get the job done safely and efficiently. I might not be the one climbing roofs, but I’m always ready to lend a hand.

Supporting Kaitlin in building Chimney Mechanix has been incredibly rewarding. I’m proud of the work she’s doing, and I’m honored to play a small part in a business that cares deeply about quality, safety, and community.

Meet Jenny – Office Manager & Chaos Coordinator

Hi! I’m Jenny Mayo, Office Manager at Chimney Mechanix of Indiana. I’m a White County native and proud Frontier graduate, now raising my family just outside of Brookston on a small hobby farm. My husband and I have two amazing kids, and our home is full of life thanks to two senior German Shepherds, a few cats, and a couple of very spoiled horses.
Before joining Chimney Mechanix, I worked in banking and administrative roles—but I was ready for something more hands-on and meaningful. When I met Kaitlin and saw her passion for the chimney industry, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. While I’m still learning the ropes in the chimney world, I bring years of experience keeping things organized and running smoothly—and I’m not afraid to jump in wherever I’m needed.
Outside of work, I coach youth soccer with my dad through the Greater Lafayette Regional Soccer Alliance, where three of my younger siblings are on the team. I grew up as the oldest of six kids and was a 9-year 4-H member, so I know how to juggle chaos, lead a team, and keep things on track.
I’m proud to be part of the Chimney Mechanix crew and excited to grow alongside a business that values community, quality, and a good sense of humor.
